World History Survey

The story of civilization, told so it finally makes sense.

Difficulty: Standard

The story of civilization, told so it finally makes sense.

World History Survey is a big-picture journey through human civilization—how empires form, ideas spread, trade reshapes societies, and technologies change everyday life. We build a timeline that makes sense, emphasizing cause-and-effect rather than memorization. Students leave with a clear mental map of "what happened when, and why it mattered," which makes future history classes dramatically easier.
Classes balance storytelling with analysis: maps, short readings, primary sources, and discussion. Students learn how to spot patterns that repeat across eras—power, belief, scarcity, innovation, cultural exchange—and how those forces shape daily life for real people, not just rulers and wars.
Students also practice writing short responses and making evidence-based claims. The goal is historical thinking: connecting dots, asking better questions, and understanding the present with deeper context.
